In the fall of 2020 Lakeland Linder International Airport completed the update of the Airport's Master Plan defining the Airport's development over the next 20 years. The project was funded through a grant partnership with the FAA, FDOT, and local funding sources. The final product serves as a critical tool for the Airport depicting the existing airport facilities and planned development initiatives.
Lakeland Linder International Airport is one of the most dynamic and diversified airports in the country, from flight training to fighter jets, chances are you will spot them over the skies of Lakeland. Currently over 60 businesses call LAL home including the world-famous NOAA Hurricane Hunters, Department of Defense Contractor Draken International, Amazon Air, and local flight schools training the next generation of pilots.
The Airport Administration is led by Interim Airport Director Kris Hallstrand who reports to the City Manager for the City of Lakeland, Florida. He leads a team of twenty-one (21) personnel who are responsible for the daily administration, operation, and maintenance of Lakeland Linder International Airport.
